American Cable Network to air Nollywood movies from February 1st

A welcomed innovation in the entertainment industry is here, as Nollywood movies will now be available on major cable television networks in the U.S. courtesy of Brandcast Media, Inc. Nollywood, the leader in the African movie industry, is currently the third-largest producer of feature films in the world, ranking only behind Hollywood in the United States and India's Bollywood as number two. Viewers of Time Warner, Cox, partners and affiliate cable television networks will now be able to watch Nollywood movies On-Demand starting February 1st, 2013. This will be a boon to millions of cable subscribers of various cultural orientations in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. 

Veteran Actor, Enebeli Elebuwa is dead

Nollywood veteran actor, Enebeli Elebuwa has passed away in the early hours of today, Wednesday, December 5, 2012.

The news was Confirmed by the PRO of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Frank Dallas, described the veteran actor as a friend, brother and veteran that will be greatly missed by both colleagues and the Nollywood community as a whole.Popular actor Enebeli Elebuwa is dead. Sources disclosed that the actor died today after several months of suffering from stroke and other related illness.

Elebuwa, 65, had been battling with stroke an other related illness for over a year and was reported to be responding to treatment in an India hospital, where he was being treated until the sad announcement.

The death of Elebuwa came as a shock to many people who thought he would get perfect medical attention in India.

Some months ago, it was reported that Nollywood actor, Arinze Okonkwo may have allegedly been connected with such act and was insinuated that he was not a straight person in terms of his sexuality. He was reported to have left an event hall when Paul Obazele requested that any person practising homosexual should leave the hall before being disgraced.

As reported, Arinze walked out of the hall which raised questions about his sexuality.

In a recent interview with Naija films.com the actor was quoted in his response when asked concerning the allegations;   

“They don’t know I’m married? That I just had a baby? I am not [a gay]. It is stupid for anybody to think that [I am gay]. Haha, I dated so many girls and I am now a married man, don’t even think about it. If that was your first question, I won’t even answer you. I do not entertain nonsense from anybody,” he fired.

“I am a child of God. I am a praise leader in my church. The person saying that does not know me and when people don’t know you, that is when they talk rubbish. I don’t care what anybody says about me. I am standing straight and I know God is my witness.”

Ngozi Nwosu down with HIV;....E24-7 magazine reports

Nollywood and Fuji house of commotion star actress, Ngozi Nwosu has been reportedly ill for a while now. The initial story gathered regarding her ailment was that she had kidney problems. In a recent report by E24-7 magazine, there seems to be more than the already reported situation. According to the magazine, Ngozi is down with HIV.

Nollywood Super actress, Ini Edo allegedly loses pregnancy

According to what Encomium magazine reported, Nollywood super actress, Ini Edo has lost her pregnancy. 

An excerpt of what Encomium reported is presented below;

“Pretty actress, Ini Edo recently suffered a loss. She lost the pregnancy she was carrying for hubby, Philip Ehiagwina. The actress, a few months back, confirmed to an online magazine that she was indeed on a nine month course and ignited the fury of fans who felt she had first denied and then confirmed.

“According to insiders, the actress, who was spotted looking every inch a super star (at the 32nd birthday party of Actress Stephanie O-Linus), also spotted a table flat tummy. ‘If she has not lost the baby, she would be almost ready to bring it to bed by now. Here is wishing her all the best as she tries again.’

“On Monday, October 8, 2012, we contacted the actress on phone on the issue and her personal assistant, Edward said, ‘She is sleeping right now. I don’t know anything about her losing her pregnancy.

“Maybe when she wakes up she will talk to you about that. But I am not aware of anything about such information.’

“Thereafter, our repeated calls were ignored by the actress, even the text message we sent was not acknowledged.

“The text message read, ‘we called earlier, but eddy said you were asleep. There is a story here that you lost your pregnancy and we would love to hear your response as we go to press now. Thanks.”

Van Vicker and Angela Okorie to host African Oscar awards in US

Ghanian actor Van Vicker and Nigerian pretty actress Angela Okorie are going to host the 2012 edition of the Nollywood and African Film Critics award in Durham North Carolina,USA.

The statement was reportedly sent to niyitabiti.net via email, the event is scheduled to hold on the 16th of September.

Popular Tanzanian actor, Steven Kanumba, who died on Saturday, April 7, 2012 was laid to rest at the Kinondoni Cemetery.

SICK ACTOR PRINCE JAMES UCHE THROWN OUT OF MARITAL HOME BY WIFE

Veteran actor, Prince James Uche who has been battling diabetes and hypertension that left him almost bedridden for two years now is homeless at the moment.

The tough-talking actor has been kicked  out of their Gbagada, Lagos residence by his wife, Ekene  who  claimed to be tired of running the affairs of their family all alone.

The displaced actor is currently squatting in a white-garment-Church, located near his former Gbagada home in Lagos. He is calling on all well-meaning Nigerians to come to his rescue.

TCHIDI CHIKERE AND WIFE QUITS MARRIAGE OF NINE YEARS

After nine years of union that produced three wonderful boys, respected movie producer, Tchidi Chikere and wife, Sophia will be going their separate ways.

The couple who have been trying to make things work for nine years will be calling it quits.

They reached this painful decision after several break-ups and efforts to make the marriage work failed.

The relationship was taking its toll on the children and affecting personal happiness of the couple.

The three children are with Sophia for now and Tchidi will be solely responsible for their upkeep and continue to play the role of a responsible father.

For the sake of the children and others involved, Tchidi Chikere will not be granting interviews or running down Sophia on the pages of newspapers.
