American Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj feuded on American Idol after the rapper admitted she did not vote for an act because she was wearing the same colour eye shadow. Daily Reports.

And the drama left Keith Urban telling the women he felt like their 'scratching post' as they displayed their claws during the Chicago leg of auditions.

Urban was stuck between the two divas as the pair of superstars traded barbs, rolled their eyes, pointed and wagged fingers at each other.

The drama unfolded as the judges gave their opinions over the performance of 20-year-old Stephanie Schimel, who had sung Doris Day's Dream A Little Dream Of Me.

Host Ryan Seacrest tweeted the official word yesterday that Nicki Minaj will indeed be sitting next to Mariah Carey on the next "American Idol" judges' panel

After a month of swirling rumors, it's official. Mariah Carey will be joined by Barb chick Nicki Minaj, country superstar Keith Urban and "Idol" vet Randy Jackson (who is also Mariah's co-manager) on the judges' panel for the new season of "American Idol."

"Idol" host Ryan Seacrest tweeted the above pic saying:

Reports has it that Nicki is a strong contender for the Idol panel.

'I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,' a source told Us Weekly.

'A few more things to sign off on but it is happening.'
