Arts: Photographer recreates portraits by 16th Century painter withfruit and vegetables

New York based photographer Klaus Enrique Gerdes has recreated images by Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo who created real-life portraits in the 16th Century using fruit, vegetables, meat and flowers. But rather than paint the results, Klaus Enrique Gerdes uses his camera, allowing him to capture his subject instantly - before any of the ingredients begin to wilt.
