Two 30 year old men rape 7 years old girl in Bayelsa state

Two men in their early 30's, Harrison Alemu and Kingsley in Sagbama area of Bayelsa State were arrested on Saturday 22nd September 2012 for raping a 7 year old girl Precious Akpos. According to the source, the girls mother who hails from Emevo in Isoko South LGA of Delta State is a single mother and sells food near Harrison's film hall.

Unknown to the woman, Harrison in particular has been having canal knowledge of Precious who is just 7 years old and a primary 4 pupil of Community Primary School 3 Sagbama. This incidnce has been going on for at least one year now, but Precious kept it a secret because Harrison threatened to kill her and her mother if she ever mention it to anyone.

Precious has not been in the best state of health since January as she constantly complains of stomach pain. Her condition did not improve when treated at the health center and her mother decided to try a chemist and even local herbs from her village. She got better when they returned from the village but her ailment began again when Harrison resumed his evil act with her. She again complained of stomach and leg pains which was what she usually experience after being raped by both men.

This time around they were advised to see a local therapist for massage on the legs, it was at that point the therapist (a woman) noticed the bruises on her body and interrogated her. She finally opened up to tell the story as it happened. According to Precious, this has been a regular occurrence whenever she takes food to him in his shop.

She is currently hospitalized in Sagbama General Hospital while the families of Harrison have worked out his bail from detention, Kingsley is still in police custody. The DPO of Sagbama police station says the station has been flooded by water, thus the reason for his release.

Precious' mother is calling on anyone who can get to the Child Right, Women Affairs or Human Rights office in Yenogoa to come to her aid so as not to allow Harrison and Kingsley go unpunished.
