SHINA RAMBO TURNS EVANGELIST

Omokenwa popularly known as Shina Rambo was an armed robbery kingpin who terrorised the whole of the South West in the 1990s, before he gave himself up to the police for arrest and was later convicted and sent to prison where he served eleven years. According to him, he met the Lord miraculously through a chance encounter in prison with Prophet T.O. Obadare and since then his life had not remained the same.

Now an evangelist, news has it that he will be leading a power crusade to rid the Lagos Island of criminals and miscreants who daily make life unbearable for people in the central business district of the commercial capital of country.

Pastor Segun Braimoh, the pastor in charge of the Lagos branch of Word of Life Bible Church, Lagos, said the Lagos Island Power Crusade with the theme: “Divine Visitation”, is scheduled for August 2-4, 2012 and it will hold at the popular Oluwole Park, a reclaimed area of Lagos erstwhile regarded as the centre for forging all kinds of documents. According to Braimoh, Evangelist Shina Rambo, whose real name is Omokenwa, has agreed to share his testimony of conversion at the three-day event and preach the undiluted Word of God with a view to winning the souls of the area boys in Lagos Island for Christ and enthrone a regime of peace in the area.

A 12-year-old boy was drowned in a bath of boiling water by robbers who raped his mother before killing both his parents in a violent house robbery.

Three men broke into the family's home in Walkerville, Johannesburg, where they assaulted and shot dead Tony Viana, 53, and brutally raped and killed his wife, Geraldine.

‘You completely humiliated me’: Robert Pattinson lashes out to cheating girlfriend

He is reported to have packed his bags and left the LA mansion he shared with girlfriend Kristen Stewart following the news she cheated on him with married director Rupert Sanders.

But despite Kristen’s very public apology regarding her ‘momentary indiscretion,’ Robert Pattinson is reported to be in two minds about giving his Twilight co-star a second chance.

A source close to the star told The UK Mirror: ‘Rob is devastated and deeply hurt. They spoke on the phone and he said “You’ve completely humiliated me.”

The source said that the 26-year-old British actor ‘couldn’t believe what he was hearing’ when Kristen told him the fling was just a ‘one off.’

It's unclear exactly when Robert found out about the 22-year-old's affair with the Snow White and the Huntsman director, who has two children with British model Liberty Ross.

Kristen and Rupert were photographed in the throes of passion on July 17 but the images did not surface in the media until two days ago.

And while Kristen and her married director paramour have both issued grovelling apologies for their exposed affair, Robert has remained resolutely silent.

The source told the Mirror that it was‘furious ‘ Robert who demanded Kristen apologise and she agreed.

'Robert wanted the world to know that he hadn’t done anything wrong and that she had made a fool of him publicly,' said the insider.

'He still can’t fathom why she cheated. Kristen is begging for another chance. Robert is undecided.'

The actress released a statement yesterday saying: 'I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused.

'This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.'

A statement from his office said the 68-year-old died a few hours after being taken ill, but did not give details.

"It is with a heavy heart...that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana," the statement said.

Mr Atta Mills has ruled the West African country since 2009.

The BBC's Sammy Darko, who is at the military hospital in Accra, says Mr Atta Mill's voice has been degenerating in the last few months.

A presidential aide said the leader had complained of suffering pains on Monday evening and he died on Tuesday afternoon, Reuters reports.

He had returned to Ghana after visiting the US for medical checks, the news agency says.

Mr Atta Mills came to power after narrowly winning against a candidate from the then governing New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo, in polls in December 2008.

He was to run for a second term in December.

Usher loses step-son

Usher's stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, has passed away following a tragic personal watercraft accident at Lake Lanier in Georgia earlier this month.
The son of the singer's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, was removed from life support Saturday 9:00am.
Glover was struck in the head by a personal watercraft driver while riding an inner tube on the lake a couple of weeks ago. Police later identified the driver of the watercraft as family friend Jeffrey S. Hubbard.

Aurora Shooting: Suspect Opens Fire At Colorado Movie Theater, Killing 12

A shooting at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" at a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado early today has left at least 12 people dead and at least 50 people injured, authorities confirmed.

Police now have apprehended a suspect who has been described as an adult male and have recovered a gun after the shooting at approximately 12:30 a.m. CT at the Century 16 Movie Theaters at the Aurora Town Center in the Denver suburb.

Witnesses said that the man appeared at the front of the theater with a rifle, handgun and gas mask. Witnesses said that he then threw a canister that released some kind of gas, after which a hissing sound ensued. The gunman then opened fire on the crowd packed into the early morning screening of the film, according to people in the theater at the time.

An explosive device was also found inside the theater. Police are unsure of whether the device, which investigators are calling a bomb, was already in place or whether it was thrown into the crowd.

Ambulances rushed to the scene as audience members fled the theater. Aurora's police chief said that he cannot elaborate on women or children injured or dead in the shooting.

Once apprehended the gunman told authorities that there were explosives in his North Aurora, Colo. residence. Investigators rushed to the apartment complex, which was quickly evacuated and now under lock down.

Though police have said that they believe the shooter was acting alone, they are now taking precautions and checking all cars in the parking lot and clearing near the theater.

There is believed to be no connection to Islamic terrorism, per a senior official monitoring the situation in Washington. Investigators are now interviewing friends and associates of the suspect to get a sense of the man's background.

In an announcement made yesterday evening Wednesday July 11th,  on the state broadcasting station, Radio Bayelsa, and signed by the Head of Service, Mrs. Gloria Izonfor, stressing that the constitutional power conferred on Dickson, in section 203 sub section 2c, Nigerias First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and 17 others were elevated to the position of permanent secretary in the state civil service.

The senior special assistant to the governor on media affairs, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson gave reasons for the appointed stating that the First Lady was a teacher in the state’s civil service and has been on leave of absence since 1999 to join her husband in his political service; first as a deputy governor, governor, vice president, then president. If not for the leave of absence, according to him, Mrs Jonathan would have risen to the status of a permanent secretary by now.

 

By this appointment, her position in the Bayelsa civil service has been retained, the leave of absence not withstanding, although the appointment will remain nominal since she is on a leave of absence. It is important to note that at retirement, whether she returns to the service or not, she will be graded on the rank of permanent secretary in the Bayelsa civil service.

Nigeria R&B duo P- Square (Peter & Paul Okoye) loses mum to an undisclosed ailment. She passed on last night in a hospital in India where she was flown to for medical treatment.

Mrs Josephine Okoye was reportedly flown to India few months ago after being first admitted at St Nicholas Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.

Senator representing Plateau North has been shot dead by unknown gunmen

 Senator Datong Dalyop of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) representing Plateau North has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen while he and other lawmakers attended the burial ceremony of the victims of Saturday’s violence in Plateau.
The majority leader and chief whip of the Plateau State house of Assembly, Hon. Gyang Fulani, who represents Barkin Ladi constituency in Jos was also murdered by the attackers.
Hon. Simon Mwadkwon, a member of the House of Representatives was critically injured as a result of the attack.
Senator Datong Dalyop was until his death, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Health.

"Super" Mario Balotelli is demanding a paternity test to establish if he really is the father of pregnant former girlfriend Raffaella Fico.

Speaking for the first time in a statement he said he would only 'accept full responsibility' for the baby after a DNA test proved he was the father.
