AFRICAN FOOTBALL LEGEND, RASHIDI YEKINI IS DEAD

Nigerian  football legend and former African footballer of the year (1993) Rashidi Yekini is dead after a prolonged illness. He died at the age of 48. He will be buried tomorrow morning according to Islamic rites.
The striker died in a herbal home in his home town Irra, Oyun local government of Kwara State where he is treatment. He was initially flown to the United Kingdom for treatment and later flown back home when his health did not improve.

He holds Nigeria’s goals’ record having scored 37 goals in 58 appearances.Rest in peace Rashidi Yekini. He is survived by a daughter who is in school in Dublin.
