A state high court in Abeokuta, Ogun state today discharged and acquitted the former governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel of corruption charges. In a ruling similar to the 2009 court decision "acquitting" now convicted former governor of Delta state, James Ibori, from corruption charges in Asaba, the Ogun state high court judge stated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, had not provided sufficient evidence of corruption against Mr. Daniel.
